Here are my four favourite Christmas-y ingredients that I tend to add to everything I cook at the moment!

Goji Berries

Goji berries: they are obviously a lovely red colour and one of the most healthy dried fruits, containing a decent amount of protein (rare for dried fruit!), high in fibre and rich in vitamin C. Add them to your cooking, breakfast, bliss balls, salads, or your turkey stuffing!

Christmas spices: I love mixed spices, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cardamon and more! I’m such a huge fan of these, and they all have their health benefits e.g. cinnamon is great for blood sugar regulation and ginger for circulation. Add these to your baking and desserts to give a Christmassy flavour, and I find adding spices allows you to cut back on sugar a little too.

Pomegranate: Who does not loved these gorgeous red jewels? They are brilliant to add to your Christmas salads, Christmas breakfast acai bowls / muesli, pancakes or to sprinkle on top of your roasted veggies (I like them on top of roasted pumpkin). They are absolutely packed full of antioxidants!

Pepitas/pumpkin seeds: Being green I think these are great for a Christmas touch. I love to add them to salads or sprinkle them on my roasted or sautéed veggies. They are fabulous also lightly toasted in a pan with other seeds and finished off with some tamari. A great pre dinner nibble with a champagne. Pumpkin seeds are high in minerals, protein and good fats. Yum.

A lovely little combo for the kids is goji berries, pomegrate jewels and pepitas, my three love it!
