Why do you need to drink Motherhood Blend?

The toll on a mum’s body whilst growing her baby, then bringing her into this world and then feeding, caring and supporting her is without a doubt completely underrated. 

And please do not stop at the ‘full on’ nature of this ‘job’ when the baby finally makes it to 3-4yrs old heads off to kinder or school – often it gets more draining and full on!

Words that come to mind: drained, exhausted, brain fog, fatigue, stressed out, sleep deprived, zapped, ‘the life has been sucked from me’, frustrated, sad at times, all too much, broken….

AH! Apologies; I need to now actually write; how also bloody amazing becoming a mother is and I would not change it for the world. You have all heard that a million and one times I know. But it is true. 

However we cannot keep running on the smell of an oily rag.

RECIPES

Motherhood Blend Base Smoothie

1-2 scoops (depending on your boost requirements) MH blend

½ frozen banana

½  cup frozen berries

1 fresh or dried date

Handful of spinach 

1 cup of rice / soy / almond / plant based milk  (extra milk or water may be required depending on the consistency you like)


Simply place all ingredients into a blender and blend until nice and smooth. 


*Efficiency tip

Feel free to make up a couple of batches. It will last in the fridge for a couple of days.


Super smoothie

1-2 scoops (depending on your boost requirements) MH blend

½ frozen kiwi fruit

½ frozen banana

½  cup frozen berries

1 fresh or dried date

Handful of spinach

Handful of parsley

¼ lemon with rind

2cm fresh ginger or turmeric

1 cup of rice / soy / almond / plant based milk  (extra milk or water may be required depending on the consistency you like)

 Simply place all ingredients into a blender and blend until nice and smooth. 

This super smoothie has the additional benefits of parsley (iron, chlorophyll, antioxidant, cleanser), lemon  (digestive stimulant, assists with the absorption of iron), kiwi fruit (digestive tonic) and ginger for extra warmth and anti-inflammatory benefits. 


*Efficiency tip

Feel free to make up a couple of batches. It will last in the fridge for a couple of days.

Motherhood acai bowl:

1-2 scoops (depending on your boost requirements) MH blend

1 frozen banana 

1 block of Amazonia acai energy 

½ cup of frozen blueberries

½  cup of rice / soy / almond / plant based milk  

¼ - ½ cup plant based yoghurt of choice

Topping 

Franjo’s Kitchen Tanker Topper date, walnut and maple muesli (perfect if you are feeding and need a milk boost too!)

Kiwi fruit (extra goodness for your digestion)

Simply place all ingredients for the ‘smoothie’ bowl into a blender and blend until nice and smooth. It will be much thicker than a regular ‘smoothie’. Pour into a bowl.

Top with the muesli and sliced kiwi or extra fruit or nuts or seeds of choice. 

Other recipe ideas:

We think this blend could lend itself to be a wonderful addition to recipes such as chocolate chia pudding (i.e. add more cacao?), overnight oats, bircher muesli, bliss balls and muesli bars just to name a few.
